Jasnow Quoted on Need for Collective Action Against AI-Powered Scam Calls

AI, Metaverse & Blockchain Industry Group Co-Leader Dan Jasnow was quoted by CNN Business discussing the need for a combined effort from both government and industry leaders to combat artificial intelligence (AI)-powered voice cloning in scam calls, despite a recent ruling declaring such practices illegal.
Dan said that while the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) ruling provides a "crystal clear" prohibition of scam robocalls using AI, this action in itself is not adequate.
“Protecting our elections and reducing AI-related scams will require a combined effort of government and industry,” he said, “including watermarking of AI-generated content, more robust consumer consent and disclosure mechanisms and a commitment by utilities and telecom providers to act quickly in response to notices of fraudulent and deceptive conduct.”
