Health Care Partner Annie Lee will present at the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys’ (CSHA) 2024 Annual Meeting and Spring Seminar in Olympic Valley, CA, on May 3, 2024.

Annie will present alongside Gabriella Stern, Corporate Counsel at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in a presentation titled “Addressing Physician Wellness and Burnout: Legal Considerations.” Annie and Gabriella will share key legal tools and considerations for addressing physician wellness and burnout within the healthcare system. Their presentation will review the Lorna Breen Act and include a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of asking mental health related questions on medical staff applications, recommendations for developing physician return to practice programs and the restructuring of well-being committees, as well as practical measures to reduce physician burnout and their potential legal ramifications, and Anti-kickback and Stark Law considerations when managing physician wellness and burnout.
