California requires a Proposition 65 warning on products with chemicals linked to cancer and reproductive harm through regular exposure. The warning can appear on products like furniture treated with flame retardants, metal jewelry made with cadmium, and even home dinnerware.

2024 Carcinogen Identification Committee Meeting

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) will convene a meeting of the Carcinogen Identification Committee (CIC) on February 27, 2024. This public meeting will be held from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, or until all business is conducted. Presentations and discussions will address (a) enzyme polymorphisms and susceptibility to carcinogenicity and (b) proposal to streamline several sections of cancer hazard identification documents. Background materials for the meeting will be posted on the OEHHA website before the meeting. No listing decisions will be made at this meeting.
