Client Work

Mark represents private equity funds, investment banks, and institutional investors in all aspects of their real estate investment and financing activities. He has extensive transactional experience in acquisitions, senior and mezzanine financings, loan workouts and restructurings, joint ventures, and development and disposition of commercial real estate assets throughout the United States.

Among other national clients, Mark has represented Goldman Sachs and its affiliates, The Blackstone Group, Inc., the Tampa Bay Rays, Revolution LLC (an investment vehicle sponsored by Steve Case), The JBG Companies, Edge Principal Advisors, and AllianceBernstein US Real Estate Partners.

Boards, Memberships & Certifications

An active member of the real estate community, Mark served on the board of the Washington Housing Conservancy, a nonprofit that works to preserve affordable workforce housing and combat displacement. Mark is a Trustee of the Federal City Council, Washington, DC.

In 2020, Mark helped launch ArentFox Schiff’s Center for Racial Equality, an organization dedicated to advancing racial justice by using legal, policy, and advocacy tools to help create a more fair and equitable society.

Previous Work

Immediately following graduation from law school, Mark served as a law clerk to the Honorable Murray M. Schwartz, United States District Judge for the District of Delaware, and the Honorable Francis D. Murnaghan, Jr., United States Circuit Judge for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In December 2013, 2015, and 2017, Washingtonian magazine named Mark a “top lawyer” in real estate in its biennial guide to the capital area’s “Best Lawyers.” Mark has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, Best Lawyers (2024.)
