Webinar Description
You have probably heard most of the following views from those in your industry regarding import and export compliance responsibilities:
- "I’ve got more important things to do than get involved in the drudgery of imports and exports."
- "Imports and exports are the responsibility of the shipping and receiving department – why do I need to get involved?"
- "I pay my customs broker and freight forwarder to take care of our company’s imports and exports. What am I paying them for then?"
These statements may seem to make perfect sense, but they do not reflect the significant consequences of failing to comply with the import and export laws in today’s post-9/11 environment. This is particularly true for companies that import and export food, cosmetics, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.
This Arent Fox webinar is designed for the busy import/export manager
or in-house counsel to provide some suggestions on how to minimize
the risks associated with his or her company’s import and export
programs. This event will also cover import and export best practices,
some of which involve little or no cost to the company.
You’ll learn more about:
- How import and export rules expose your company to significant risk if left unattended.
- The common import and export mistakes that put your company on the government’s radar screen.
- How to challenge import and export penalty assessments for both major and minor infractions.
- How to implement import and export best practices without breaking your company’s budget.
- Tips and resources available for import and export compliance.

- In-house legal counsel
- Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device and other life sciences organizations.
