Bernice Leber Presents Report and Resolution To ABA House of Delegates In Support of Resolution 105
On February 6, New York partner Bernice Leber presented a Report and Resolution that was researched for three years, with the help of New York law clerk Abigail Lowin, concerning the reparations framework for providing medical assistance during armed conflict to victims of sexual and gender-based violence. The research was in support of Resolution 105, which urges the UN, the United States and other governments and relevant international actors to develop and implement methodologies to measure and track the prevalence of sexual and gender-based violence. As coincidence and timeliness have it, UN Secretary-General Guttierez has just formed a Task Force to address the same issues.
After the hearing the presentation, the ABA House of Delegates unanimously passed the Resolution.
