    June 17, 2015

New York, NY — Arent Fox LLP is proud to announce that, for the third consecutive year, leading global referral guide Legal 500 has named partner David L. Dubrow one of the best lawyers in the country for municipal bankruptcy. Mr. Dubrow is among an elite group of only nine attorneys to be named a Leading Lawyer in the field of municipal bankruptcy, and Legal 500 notes Mr. Dubrow’s “decades of experience” handling Chapter 9, Chapter 11, and other municipal finance matters. Arent Fox was rated a Tier 1 practice for municipal bankruptcy counsel and the firm’s Municipal Bankruptcy group was also shortlisted by the leading directory for its “Practice of the Year” award. Arent Fox was the only creditors' counsel nominated for this prestigious honor.

Mr. Dubrow leads Arent Fox’s Municipal Bankruptcy practice, which Legal 500 calls “the best in the business.” The other members of the Municipal Bankruptcy group recognized by Legal 500 were Carol Cohen, Caroline English, and Les Jacobowitz. Arent Fox has represented bond insurers, bond holders, and trustees in the Central Falls, Harrisburg, Stockton, San Bernardino, and Detroit bankruptcies. In connection with that work, Legal 500 notes Arent Fox’s reputation as a “five-star firm” when it comes to municipal bankruptcy matters, including complex benefits issues and associated litigation. Legal 500 also notes David and the group have a longstanding track record of "achieving positive results" in municipal bankruptcy cases, for which their clients recommend them "wholeheartedly and without hesitation."

A finance attorney representing clients in lending transactions, work-outs, and bankruptcies, Mr. Dubrow counsels financial institutions making loans to finance real estate projects and providing credit and liquidity facilities for tax-exempt bond issues. He has represented parties in financings involving a wide range of industries and has extensive experience representing bond trustees, credit enhancers, and bondholders seeking to maximize their recoveries on defaulted tax-exempt bonds and in municipal bankruptcies. David also is a key leader of the firm’s national Real Estate practice, which operates in New York, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, and San Francisco and is composed of more than 60 attorneys.

The prestigious annual guide recognizes individual lawyers and law firm practice areas based on more than 250,000 interviews with attorneys, clients, and corporate counsel.
