Arent Fox Named ‘Best Place to Work’ by Human Rights Campaign
Washington, DC — Arent Fox LLP received a perfect score in a national benchmarking survey that tracks how well companies treat their lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. The firm is one of about 500 major US businesses to earn top marks in the 2017 workplace equality report on corporate policies and practices for LGBTQ workers.
“We are once again honored to receive this recognition from the Human Rights Campaign,” said Chairman Mark M. Katz. “At Arent Fox, we believe that delivering top legal counsel and exceptional service is the product of a strong, diverse workplace.”
The 2017 Corporate Equality Index rated more than 1,000 businesses by evaluating their LGBT-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. In receiving a 100 percent rating, Arent Fox was named a “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.”
For more than a decade, Arent Fox has had a Diversity & Inclusion Committee, which is led by the firm’s chairman and includes many members of our senior management team. The Committee’s goals are to recruit, retain, and promote lawyers of color, women, and LGBT lawyers, while ensuring that firm resources are dedicated for training, mentoring, and business development.
Earlier this week, Arent Fox announced it is re-opening the application process for law students interested in being part of the Diversity Scholarship Program and receiving a summer associate position in the New York office. The firm’s annual financial award is given to students who demonstrate a commitment to practicing law at the highest level. To read more about the Diversity Scholarship Program, click here.
