    Arent Fox Announces 2013 Promotions to Partner and Counsel

    WASHINGTON, DC — Arent Fox LLP is proud to announce the election of five new partners and two new counsel, effective January 1, 2013. The new partners include Kevin R. Pinkney, Amy E. L. Schoenhard, and Jennifer C. Terry. The firm has also promoted associate Jennifer L. Bougher to counsel.

    The Firm’s Newest Partners

    Kevin R. Pinkney (Washington, DC), formerly an associate in the Government Contractor Services and Commercial Litigation practices, counsels clients doing business with federal and state government agencies on matters arising throughout the acquisition life cycle. He focuses on the government contracting and national security aspects of business transactions; assisting clients responding to Government cost audits; conducting internal investigations; litigating claims, protests and False Claims Act suits; preserving rights in intellectual property; negotiating and drafting agreements; and advising on compliance matters. Mr. Pinkney has represented domestic and foreign firms in a variety of industries including aerospace, information technology, pharmaceutical, private security, finance, private equity, and education. Before joining the firm, Mr. Pinkney was the co-founder and general counsel of a biotechnology firm in the veterinary diagnostics industry. He earned his JD from Harvard Law School.

    Amy E. L. Schoenhard (Washington, DC), promoted from associate, is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. A registered US patent attorney, Ms. Schoenhard focuses on patent litigation, patent prosecution, and opinion work in the technical fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, herbal supplements, and fiber optic cable installation. Her patent prosecution experience includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications on behalf of US and international clients, as well as validity and infringement searches, studies, and opinions. Ms. Schoenhard is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. She received her JD from Duke University School of Law.

    Jennifer C. Terry (Los Angeles, CA), previously an associate, has been promoted to partner where she will work with the Commercial Litigation and Labor & Employment practices, building on the firm’s national presence in these areas. Her practice includes acting as outside general counsel to various entities doing business in California, where she provides guidance on matters relating to consumer products and commercial transactions. Ms. Terry received her JD from University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and Honors BA and BS degrees from the University of Utah.

    Jennifer L. Bougher (New York, NY), previously an associate in the Commercial Litigation practice, has significant experience representing clients in federal and state court litigation, as well as international and domestic arbitration. She also serves as mediator in commercial disputes, and represents litigants in mediations and negotiations. A member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, Ms. Bougher received her JD from Fordham University School of Law, where she is now a member of the adjunct faculty and teaches alternative dispute resolution and coaches interschool competition teams.
