Arent Fox Advises Brooklyn Nets on New Training Facility Deal

Washington, DC —  Arent Fox LLP served as outside counsel for the Brooklyn Nets in connection with the team’s new multi-million dollar training facility, which will be located in Brooklyn’s Industry City.

Sports group leader Richard L. Brand led a group from Arent Fox that advised on all aspects of the practice facility, including the leasing of the real property, the separate lease of the associated tenant improvements, and the construction of one of the largest training facility transactions in professional sports. Finance partner Alan S. Dubin, Real Estate partner Jeremy B. Fox, Construction partner Andrew Ross, and Corporate & Securities associate Kelli A. Scheid provided counsel on the deal.

The 70,000 square foot facility will occupy the eighth floor of a century-old warehouse at 148 39th Street, with construction scheduled to be completed by the start of the team’s 2015 training camp. The facility will feature world-class amenities, including two full basketball courts, a weight room, a training pool and two hydro pools, a rooftop entertainment space, an 18-seat multimedia theater, 3,000 square feet of lounge space, and a media interview and workroom.
